Natural gas pipes, tap water pipes, sewage pipes… Buildings are equipped with various types of pipes to transport different gases and liquids. At construction sites, these pipes are cut according to dimension requirements, or are extended in length using pipe connectors. We collect the various metal pipe bits left over on these sites, and hang them up again after rearranging, designing, experimenting, and reassembling them. Now they no longer transport liquids, but transmit light instead.
“Tube rings” are connectors of metal pipes, and in the eyes of META, their luster and textures make them the perfect reflective materials. Now, in their newly transformed state, these tube rings no longer serve to restrain, but to diffuse.
